Designer Spotlight: Sheila Bridges

So, you may have seen this chick around- she's now got some products at Anthropologie and has been featured everywhere from Elle Decor to Time Magazine- check here to read more about her-

Sheila has been working as a designer since the opening of her Harlem design firm in 1993. She has been named "Best Interior Designer" by CNN and Time. With a love for the historic architecture of the area, Sheila has a beautiful office and home in old Harlem,NY(photo 5). Her work is inspired by both her passion for historic American architecture and 19th century French design. Sheila studied at Brown and Parsons as well as Polimoda in Florence, Italy.

Sheila now offers wallpapers at several retailers
and is maker of one of my all-time favorites.

and this one featured in a DIY on Design Sponge yesterday

High Point Market

This week I went to my first furniture market. There were tons and tons of things to see and I wish I could've stayed a little longer. I'll know better for next time.
Here are a couple of my favorite things, hope you enjoy!
kinda fuzzy looking/poop photos but my phone died early in the day so it's all i've got.

things are coming together

So, we've only been in this new house an entire YEAR next month?!
Time flies.
It's taken a little longer than I thought to get things looking better in our new home, but we're finally making some progress. My wing back has finally returned upholstered and I have to say, I think I like it.

I still have a few projects to complete, I really think photographing things will help motivate me to move more quickly, I'll clean today and post a few tomorrow. Maybe by then I'll have the window treatments my sister made for me up to show you too.
til then,

pretty in pink roundup

So, I'm not really a pink girl. I've never thought of myself as super femininebut lately I really enjoy pink.Coral can be such a pretty accent color and almost any shade of pink makes a pallet more comfy and cheery.
examples are:

a little pink can go an awful long way in my book

I love the balance of a floral pattern with the ultra modern lines of this kitchen, but might I suggest this paper instead? I think the scale is a little off in this kitchen, it would really benefit from a slightly larger pattern.
Now for a little obnoxious PINK
meet the new power couple, ruby tango and peach!
soooo clever!

Jenna Lyons Lives Pretty

So, i know some of these photos are old (from the revered pages of Domino) but i thought they'd be nice to see with a few new ones I've stumbled upon recently. Just wait and see her office tho, so inspired!

her pretty Brooklyn brownstone
It's kind of surprising to me how the head creative director of the super saturated j.crew
prefers an all white, airy abode.
Still, it's a pretty peaceful, serene aesthetic. I think i dig it.
the floors are amazing in here!

i actually think this is my favorite, not because of the shoes either. It's whimsical and has more going on than the rest of the home
 Now, for the fun stuff!
This is her new office- I'm assuming she's either found her zestful aesthetic after finally coming out
or she hired someone new to do it. Wise choices were made either way.
I think it's super happy and crazy colorful!
